A quick snapshot of how show prep is looking
And I’m back…
Well, that took longer than expected and a lot has changed since I last wrote - however, it’s time to get back to it. If you follow my socials you’ll know that my work has changed somewhat since the last time I was here. I’ve had another solo show and a variety of pop ups - it’s been busy alongside the full time job.
I’m excited for what is coming next, there’s a lot going on and some things that I need to keep close to me for now.
But…21/3 is my next solo show at the Corner Collective Gallery in Southsea - I’m super excited for this one and can’t wait to share more details with you.
I’m planning to make this a weekly thing - keep the blog updated and keep some pressure on myself as I move into a new phase. I’m a little rusty but hope to use this for longer insights into my process alongside being able to explain how I find the inspiration and where my latest ideas came from x
Cicada process things
It's been a busy time getting things ready for my next solo show in April. Here's a couple of shots of new work, promo stuff and how I shape my doodles and daydreams into fully formed things. I'm still not sure what they become when they fledge.

A route map
a potential direction, a thinking space, a place to let go. A mind map from my sketchbook of collected, random entomology and ornithology things.
Entomology sketchbook pages
Pages from my most recent sketchbook 17/18 of entomology specimens. All of these are precious in some way, all collected and imagined in some way using a variety of inks and coloured layers.

Feather drawing sketchbook pages
Some feather drawings exploring form and shape using a variety of media. I always love exploring, collecting feather treasure and then concentrating on their mix of strength and fragility.
